October – February
The rains subside by October in Kerala and the humidity also drops. The temperature is moderate to enjoy wildlife safaris in Periyar or Wayanad. March – May
Spring is another time when it gets really busy in Bhutan. The wildflowers start to bloom starting March and lasting till April. It is a really good time for outdoor adventure activities. May sees a warmer climate with some rains.
June – August
The shoulder months in Kerala are from March to May. The crowds have thinned by now and Kerala is easier to explore. The days are generally hot with humidity on the rise too. During these months the hill stations of Idukki, Wayanad and Punmudi are favoured as the temperatures are lower.
June – September
Come June, the monsoon hits Kerala first. Rains lash the state and it is the lean period with regards to travellers. It is a great time for cheap travel across Kerala. The seas are rough but the hills are misty during this period. However, most festivals are held during this period. The snake boat races are held across Kerala during these months. The monsoon is also the best time for some Ayurvedic therapy massages.

The Cochin International Airport in Kochi is the busiest airport in Kerala and is well connected to all major cities in India, as well as internationally.
The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Trivandrum serves the south of Kerala while the Karipur International Airport, Kozhikode (Calicut) connects Northern Kerala with the major cities of India.
By Train
There is train connectivity to all major cities and towns of Kerala from the other parts of India. The railway stations at Kochi and Trivandrum see a maximum footfall of passengers.
By Road
The major cities of Kerala are connected by both national highways and state highways, and smaller towns by state highways. Even the villages have smooth tarmac roads.
